Easy DIY Décor for the Season

Once the Christmas decorations come down, many of us are left wondering how to transition our home décor to reflect the beauty of winter. I wanted something simple, non-Christmas, and cozy to carry through the season. With four empty glass bottles and a little creativity, I created a lovely SNOW-themed bottle display that perfectly embodies the winter vibe. Here’s how I did it—and how you can too!
What You’ll Need
• 4 glass bottles (recycled or purchased)
• Mod Podge (or a similar decoupage glue)
• Printed letters spelling “SNOW”
• Fluffy sprinkles or artificial snowflakes
• Fall floral stems (look for discounted pieces!)
• White paint
• Glitter
• Green ribbon
• Foam brush or paintbrush
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep the Bottles

Start by cleaning your bottles thoroughly to remove any labels, dust, or grease. Then I painted the bottles first with primer then a layer of paint.

2. Add the Letters

Print out the letters “S,” “N,” “O,” and “W” in a font you love. Cut them out neatly and use Mod Podge to adhere one letter to the center of each bottle. Let it dry completely.

3. Sprinkle Some Magic

Once the letters are secure, coat the entire bottle (except the letters) with a layer of Mod Podge. While the glue is still wet, sprinkle fluffy sprinkles or artificial snow all over the bottle. Tap gently to remove any excess and let it dry. This creates a frosty, snowy effect!

4. Transform the Florals

I scored some fall floral stems at 90% off during the end-of-season sales, but their autumn colors didn’t match my winter theme. A quick coat of white paint transformed them into snow-covered branches. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled glitter over the florals for an extra shimmer.
5. Add the Finishing Touch

Once everything was dry, I tied a small green ribbon around the neck of each bottle for a subtle pop of color. This simple detail brought the entire look together without overpowering the snowy aesthetic.

Displaying Your Winter Bottles

I arranged my SNOW bottles on a shelf, but these would look stunning as a centerpiece, on a mantel, or even lining a windowsill. The frosty texture of the bottles combined with the glittery floral stems gives off a cozy, winter wonderland vibe.
Why I Love This Craft
This project was not only budget-friendly (thanks to recycled materials and sale florals) but also easy to customize. You could use different words like COZY, CHILL, or ICE if you prefer. It’s a great way to brighten up your space during the long winter months and make the post-Christmas transition seamless.
If you give this project a try, I’d love to hear how it turned out! Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments below. Happy crafting!
