DIY Handmade Easter Decor: Budget-Friendly Daffodil-Themed Creations

Easter is the perfect time to refresh your home with bright, cheerful decor — and what better way to do it than with a little DIY magic? I wanted to add more “decor fluff” around my home without spending much money, so I got creative with items I already had. With a splash of purple paint, some printed daffodils, and a little Mod Podge, I ended up with three adorable, handmade decorations that brought a fresh, spring vibe to my space. Let me walk you through each project!

Project 1: “SAVED” Daffodil Bottle Vases

For this project, I took five empty glass bottles and turned them into beautiful, meaningful vases spelling out the word “SAVED” — a sweet reminder of Easter’s message of the resurrection of Jesus. Here’s how I did it:

Materials:

• 5 empty glass bottles

• Purple acrylic paint

• Mod Podge

• Printed daffodil images (I found some images online Pinterest)

• Cardstock letters spelling “SAVED” (I made mine purple to match)

• Ribbon or twine for a bow

• Faux daffodil flowers

Instructions:

1. Paint the Bottles: I gave each bottle a few coats of purple acrylic paint, letting them fully dry between coats for an even finish.

2. Add the Flowers: I printed out daffodil images, carefully cut them out with a craft knife, and Mod Podged them onto the front of each bottle.

3. Add the Letters: I cut out purple letters spelling “SAVED” and layered them on top of each daffodil, securing them with Mod Podge.

4. Finish with a Bow: To top it off, I tied a simple bow around the neck of each bottle.

5. Arrange the Flowers: I added small faux daffodils to each bottle for a cheerful, springy touch.

The result? A lovely, faith-inspired Easter centerpiece that’s full of color and charm!

Project 2: Mini Yogurt Jar Vases

I’ve been saving my empty Oui yogurt jars for a while now, knowing they’d be perfect for a DIY project — and Easter was the perfect excuse to transform them.

Materials:

• Empty Oui yogurt jars (or any small jars)

• Purple acrylic paint

• Floral scrap paper (or printable florals)

• Mod Podge

• Faux daffodils

• Scotch tape

Instructions:

1. Paint the Jars: I painted each jar purple and let them dry completely.

2. Add a Floral Touch: I cut up some purple floral scrapbook paper I had saved (you could print your own design too!) and Mod Podged it onto the jars for a soft, cottage-style look.

3. Arrange the Flowers: To help the flowers stay in place, I crisscrossed some Scotch tape over the top of each jar, leaving small gaps to slide the daffodils in between. This hack worked perfectly to create a balanced, tidy arrangement!

These mini vases looked adorable alongside my larger “SAVED” vases, adding a cozy, whimsical feel to my Easter display.

Project 3: Daffodil Wooden Sign Makeover

I also had a small wooden sign that had gotten a bit water-damaged — but instead of tossing it, I decided to give it new life with some paint and daffodil art.

Materials:

• Old wooden sign

• White acrylic paint

• Printed daffodil images

• Mod Podge

Instructions:

1. Revive the Sign: I painted the whole sign white to cover the water damage and create a clean base.

2. Add the Flowers: I printed, cut out, and Mod Podged more daffodil images onto the sign. The bright yellow flowers against the white background gave it a fresh, springy feel!

This quick upcycle turned my damaged sign into a sweet, cheerful piece of floral decor — and you’d never know it was headed for the trash before!

Final Thoughts

All three of these Easter DIYs were super budget-friendly — the only thing I bought was a bundle of fake daffodils. Everything else I already had on hand: old jars, scrap paper, paint, and Mod Podge. It’s amazing how you can turn everyday items into beautiful, meaningful decor without spending much money at all.

If you’re looking for a fun, affordable way to bring spring into your home this Easter season, give one (or all!) of these projects a try. Not only will you end up with unique, personalized decorations, but you’ll also enjoy the creative process — and that’s the best part.

Happy crafting, and may your home be filled with light, love, and daffodil cheer this Easter!
