For years, decorating for Easter has been a struggle for me. Honestly, I’ve mashed my Easter and spring decor together without much thought, and it always felt… off. I wasn’t sure what I wanted my Easter vibe to be — pastel overload? Resurrection crosses everywhere? Soft spring florals? Nothing quite clicked.

Well, this year, I finally figured it out — and let me tell you, it feels so good to have a clear direction. Easter and spring are not the same thing, and they deserve their own moments to shine.
My Easter Decor Revelation

When I think of Easter, two things come to mind:
• Yellow daffodils — one of the first signs of life after winter, bright and hopeful.

• Purple — a color representing royalty, honoring the resurrection of Jesus.

Those two colors feel meaningful and beautiful to me for Easter. They set the tone without falling into the typical pink-and-blue Easter palette that never quite worked in my space.

Honestly? I’m leaving out pink and blue entirely this year for Easter. Sometimes they just don’t mash well with the vibe I want — and that’s okay!
Spring Decor Deserves Its Own Spotlight
Spring, on the other hand, has a totally different feel for me. It’s softer, lighter, and more playful — and pinks absolutely belong there. My favorite? Apple blossoms.

I love them so much, but here in Montana, they bloom later in spring, so they feel more like a true springtime flower than an Easter one. Easter, to me, is about celebrating renewal and resurrection — early spring flowers like daffodils embody that hopefulness perfectly.
So, I’m officially drawing a line between the two seasons. Easter gets its bold yellow and royal purple moment, while spring gets the soft pink apple blossoms later on.
Takeaway: Decorate for What Feels Right
If you’ve ever felt stuck on Easter decor like I did, my biggest takeaway is this: Separate Easter from spring.
Easter can be rich, meaningful, and joyful without looking like a pastel candy aisle exploded in your living room. And spring? It can have its own light, fresh, airy feel — after Easter has had its moment.
So, what colors or flowers feel right to you for Easter? Are you a classic pastel person, or do you lean more toward something symbolic and bold like I did this year?
