DIY Valentine Bottle Decor (Two Easy Glass Bottle Sets)

I love creating seasonal décor using items I already have on hand, and this Valentine bottle project turned out so cute and simple. I made two different sets of three glass bottles, and both sets work as decorative vases for Valentine’s Day. They’re perfect for shelves, mantels, tiered trays, or table centerpieces.

The best part? These were made from repurposed glass bottles—nothing fancy or expensive.

Set One: Mod Podged Valentine Coke Bottles

For the first set, I used three plain glass Coke bottles that I already had. These bottles stayed clear, but I gave them a soft Valentine look using paper and Mod Podge.

How I Made Them

I started by tearing up Valentine-themed paper in pinks and reds. I didn’t worry about perfect edges—I actually like the torn-paper look because it adds texture.

I Mod Podged the paper from top to bottom, covering the entire outside of each bottle. Once everything was fully dry, I moved on to the details.

The Middle Bottle

For the center bottle, I added a white circular sign that says “Happy Valentine’s Day.” The sign has black lettering with a few small hearts, which gave it a clean contrast against the pink background.

After Mod Podging the sign onto the bottle, I hot glued red ribbon around the edge of the circle. At the top of the circle, I added a small bow, and to finish it off, I hot glued a white button in the center of the bow. That little detail really tied everything together.

The Side Bottles

The two side bottles are simpler. Once the Mod Podge was dry, I hot glued red ribbon around the top of each bottle to keep them cohesive with the middle one without overpowering it.

Painting the Roses (For Both Sets)

I used fake white roses—just what I had on hand—but I wanted them to look more Valentine-inspired.

To do this, I mixed acrylic paint with water to thin it out and lightly painted the roses in soft pinks and reddish tones. Because the paint was watered down, it blended beautifully and gave the flowers a soft, almost watercolor look.

To add more depth, I dipped the tips of the roses into darker pink paint. The result was a faded pink rose with deeper color at the edges, and I absolutely love how they turned out.

I placed these roses into the tops of all the bottles so each set worked like a trio of vases.

Set Two: Painted Starbucks Glass Bottles

For the second set, I used three Starbucks glass coffee bottles—one larger bottle for the middle and two smaller ones for the sides.

Prepping the Bottles

I started by priming all three bottles and then painting them matte white. This created a clean base and made the painted details stand out more.

Adding the Design

Once the paint was dry, I lightly sketched hearts with a pencil all over each bottle. On the middle bottle, I sketched a circle made of hearts and wrote the word “love” in the center.

Then I went in with pink and red paint, painting the hearts freehand with a paintbrush. I didn’t aim for perfection—slight imperfections give it that handmade charm.

To make the word “love” pop a little more, I traced over it using a pink marker, which added just enough contrast without being too bold.

Finishing Touches

I tied pink ribbon around the tops of all three bottles and added the same painted roses I used in the first set.

Final Thoughts

These Valentine bottles were simple, budget-friendly, and so fun to make. I love that they’re made from items I already had on hand.

If you’re looking for an easy Valentine DIY that adds charm without spending a lot of money, this is a great project to try.
