My Simple, Low-Maintenance Routine
Maintaining my hair throughout the week is something I’ve gotten down to a routine that works for me. It’s simple, low-maintenance, and still leaves me feeling put together—even when I’m on the go. Here’s a peek at what my hair week looks like:
Saturday Night: Prep for the Week
I always start my hair routine on Saturday night. After washing my hair, I either put it into lots of braids or curlers—depending on what kind of curls I’m feeling like for the week. Then, I sleep in them overnight. It’s not always the most comfortable, but it’s worth it for the curls I get the next day!
Sunday: Curly and Ready to Go

When I wake up on Sunday, I undo the braids or take out the curlers, and voilà—curly hair that’s ready to go! This is probably my favorite hair day of the week because the curls look fresh and bouncy without me having to do much in the morning. It’s perfect for a carefree yet styled look that lasts.
Monday: Messy Clip, Still Curly

By Monday, my curls have loosened a bit, but they still look cute. I like to keep it simple, so I usually go for an easy, messy clip. It’s a quick hairstyle, but the leftover curls give it a little something extra, making it look like I put in way more effort than I actually did.
Tuesday: Low Bun and Dry Shampoo

On Tuesday, I go for a lower bun. It’s sleek and practical, especially as my curls start to settle down. Tuesday night is also when I start using dry shampoo before bed. It keeps my hair looking fresh without needing to wash it too frequently, and it helps me extend my style for the rest of the week.
Wednesday: Work Day in the Sun

Wednesday is usually a work day for me, and if I’m spending time outside, I need a hairstyle that works with a hat. A low bun is my go-to for days like these. It keeps my hair out of the way, and I can still wear my hat comfortably without worrying about messing up my look.
Thursday: Down and Curled with Clips

By Thursday, I’m ready for a little change. I decided to wear my hair down and added some definition to the curls with a small curling iron. To give it a bit more flair, I clipped two small sections back with a couple of cute hair clips. It’s a simple style but adds a touch of polish to my day.
Friday: Messy Bun at the Top

As the week comes to a close, my hair is starting to feel a bit more lived-in, so I usually just go for a huge messy bun on top of my head. It’s easy, comfortable, and still looks cute. Plus, it’s perfect for a casual Friday vibe when I just want to keep things relaxed.
Saturday: Side Braid into a Bun

By Saturday, my hair is getting a little greasy, so I go for a side part and pull my hair into a side braid that leads into a bun. It’s a neat and tidy style that still feels a bit playful, and it helps me stretch my hair one more day before I wash and repeat the process all over again.
This routine gives me the flexibility to switch things up throughout the week while keeping it low-maintenance. Whether I’m rocking curls, a bun, or just going with the flow, it keeps my hair looking good without having to constantly redo it.
